Mark your calendars for the 3rd Annual Bob’s Buddies Volleyball Game!

On Thurs, September 28th, our Lady Patriots Volleyball Team will play more than just a home game against Fuquay-Varina. Join us for this incredible evening filled with emotion and high energy volleyball!  The team will be fundraising for Bob’s Buddies, a local organization benefitting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (100% of the money raised goes to much needed pediatric brain tumor research).

We are encouraging students, faculty and administrators, and the community to come out again this year in support of this cause.  Help us honor the survivors, fighters, and parents of those children who have lost their battle from pediatric brain tumors -- many of the local “Bob’s Buddies” children and their families will be in attendance.

During school lunches from Sept 11th – Sept 28th, the team will be selling Bob’s Buddies t-shirts, wristbands, and “in honor/in memory” cards.  The class with the most card sales will be announced at the Fall pep rally.  On game day, the team will be raising money via concessions and t-shirt sales, many amazing raffle baskets, a silent auction (including items like orthodontic braces, an iPad, etc.) and “in honor/in memory” card sales.

Doors open at 4pm, the JV game is at 4:30pm, and our Varsity game will begin at approximately 5:30pm.
If you would like to donate directly or contribute to the raffle baskets (by September 21st), please contact Lu Dumas: hiscom@nc.rr.com.

Meet Abby, one of our courageous Bob’s Buddies!

Abby was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor January 2016, when she was 5 1/2 years old. The only symptom Abby had was a recurring headache that started to increase in frequency. By the end of 2015, her headaches started waking her at night. January 15, 2016, Abby had a 5 hr. brain surgery to remove the tumor, which was a supratentorial PNET. From February to August of 2016, Abby had 31 treatments of radiation, 4 rounds of in-patient chemotherapy that required a week stay in the hospital each time, and countless tests, procedures, MRIs, and x-rays as part of her diagnosis and treatment. Now, with follow up MRIs every 4 months, we are happy to say that Abby is cancer-free and starting second grade!
